"Means" is everything you have to do something – whether equipment, time, or money.

"Tools" are generally the mechanical things you use to do a job. For example, a screwdriver, hammer, drill.

"Equipment" are the mechanical or electrical things you need, including heavy machinery.

A "device" is a machine or mechanical object you can use to do a job.
