Do you mean that you hope he will be OK here? In which case, "I hope he will be fine here / he will be OK here."

I'd rather take another class = I'd prefer to take another class.

Can I say, 'I hope he would be doing good here'. or will be doing is correct. In which situation we use would more. 'I 'd rather take another class'. does it mean the class I took is not that useful. Please explain.

Because you're talking about your regret now (I wish) rather than a regret you had in the past (I wished).

Hi clare..the expressions and prefernces are very helpful..but my question is..can we use all alike?..bit difficult to understand without examples..In one post it is written that "i wish he hadnt come to the party" ..why the word "wished" cant be used?
