You could search Google for core vocabulary lists, but these normally also include nouns / articles etc.Another good place to start would be the list of irregular verbs in your dictionary. Most (not all) irregular verbs are extremely common in English. Of course you'd also need to add other regular verbs to the list for a "complete" list of useful verbs.
